The GMCC variable volumes DC Inverter product shone at the IFA and received the Technological Innovation Award
On August 31, 2012, the grand awarding ceremony of the China Home Appliance Innovation Award was held at the Marshall Hall of the IFA in Berlin, Germany, where the GMCC Variable Volumes DC-INV Compressor technology won the “Technological Innovation Award”
The China Home Appliance Innovation Award has received great support from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce of China, and other competent authorities since 2005, and drawn the attention of well-known international and domestic enterprises. The awarding ceremonies and prize-winning product exhibitions at the IFA in Berlin, Germany for three consecutive years have been taken seriously and supported by European organizations including the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology of Germany, and the IFA organizer, and received unanimous recognition and favorable comments from Chinese and foreign media. At the ceremony of this year, representatives from the Berlin City Government, Messe Berlin and IFA organizer; Bing Xuwei, President of China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute; Meng Fanzhuang, Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Germany; and other leaders and guests were present, and awarded cups and certificates to the winning enterprises.
Leading the world through independent innovation
GMCC became the first enterprise making a total of 30 million inverter compressors in the world his July. Together with this milestone, GMCC launched China’s first Variable Volumes DC Inverter product—the Variable Volumes DC Inverter High-efficiency Air-conditioner Compressor. In the appraisal session of this China Home Appliance Innovation Award, the GMCC Variable Volumes DC Inverter High-efficiency Air-conditioner Compressor won the “Technological Innovation Award”.
Bing Xuwei, President of China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute, said, as the Chinese government had invested RMB26.5 billion to start a new round of energy subsidization, the Chinese household electrical appliances industry reaffirmed the future direction of energy conservation in industry restructuring and technological development. The industry not only shoulders the important task of driving market demand and realizing economic growth, but also takes up the mission of exploring energy-saving technologies and creating a smart life.
Currently, the inverter and variable volumes technologies are more effective in air-conditioning, where the inverter technology is popular in developed countries but expensive, and the variable volumes technology has substantial improvements in cost and reliability over the inverter technology by eliminating the inverter and applying mechanical displacement adjustment.
It is learned that GMCC Variable Volumes DC-INV Compressor combines the variable volumes and inverter technologies into a new technology featuring independent intellectual property rights, ease of production and control, and low cost, improving the capacity adjustment range of compressors greatly, solving the problems of low energy efficiency of inverter compressors at low frequencies and insufficient heating capacity of variable volumes compressors, more efficient and energy-saving than conventional compressors
Due to the twin-cylinder structure, the GMCC variable volumes DC inverter compressor has the two-mode switching function. It can start both cylinders for quick heating, increasing heating capacity effectively. It has a refrigeration output of 5,000-7,500W, a COP of over 4.1, an energy efficiency class of 2 and a great technical advantage in heating.
The 12th Five-year Plan period is a critical stage for China to improve independent innovation capacity and build an innovation-oriented country. The transformation from a “big country” to a “strong country” of household electric appliances is impossible without the independent innovation of enterprises. As the text in the exhibition hall of the GMCC headquarters reads “the weak stand still but the strong build the future”, from the beginning of GMCC’s inverter era marked by the first DC Inverter Air-conditioner Compressor in 2003 to the successful production of the first Twin-cylinder DC Inverter Air-conditioner Compressor developed independently by GMCC in 2009, and to the globally leading Variable Volumes DC Inverter High-efficiency Compressor available today, GMCC has stuck to the path of independent innovation in refrigeration and promoted the development of the refrigeration industry with innovative compressor technologies for over a decade.
